“Telescreen is a rare and unique voice … this is a project I am honoured to have a hand in.”

— Dean Tuza, (Producer - The Rubens, Stella Donnelly, MOSSY, Moody Beach)

"BRIGHT, SHINY & GLORIOUSLY VIBRANT."

- HHHHappy

Formed from the characteristic early-life crises of four twenty-something uni students, Telescreen are the newest young band making waves out of Melbourne.

Drawing on retro inspirations such as Joy Division and Pink Floyd, and The Strokes, Telescreen marry an 80's low-fi aesthetic with modern pop/rock to offer a unique and euphonious sound. It is this sound that caught the attention of renowned Australian producer Dean Tuza (The Rubens, Stella Donnelly, MOSSY, Moody Beach) and inspired his recent collaboration with the band on their double A-side 7" vinyl. Mixed by four-time ARIA nominated Tony Espie (best known for his recent work on The Avalanche's critically acclaimed album 'Wildflower') this exciting debut couples introspective lyrics with strong instrumentation and production to create unique and powerful songwritng, a clear demonstration of the band's sophistication.

It didn't take long for Telescreen's debut single 'Crowded' to get tongues talking. The track quickly began to climb the Triple J Unearthed charts, seeing it debut at #3 on the pop charts and #9 on the overall charts. Catching the attention of the Triple J team, the track was added to rotation on Unearthed radio and Declan Byrne delivered the band their first ever spin on the station on Home & Hosed. 'Crowded' continued to gain traction around the country, receiving regular radio play on stations such as 4ZZZ, FBi Radio and Radio Adelaide, as well as being added to high rotation on SYN. This saw Telescreen reach #2 on the AMRAP regional charts and #9 on the AMRAP metro charts in the company of Aussie greats Courtney Barnett, Dan Sultan and Remi. 'Crowded' now has over 14k streams with over 7k listeners from around the world.

Following their sell-out debut live appearance earlier this year, Telescreen have continued to make headway in Melbourne, playing a heavy run of shows across town including headline gigs at The Toff, The Workers Club, a mini-residency at The Retreat Hotel and their biggest show to date, downstairs at The Gaso for the release of their newest single 'Love Proud'.
